Alion will provide Army command with technical services
Alion Science and Technology will provide engineering and technical services to the Army Communications Electronics Command under a three-year, $9 million task order.
Alion Science and Technology Corp. will provide engineering and technical services to the U.S. Army Communications Electronics Command (CECOM) under a three-year award worth $9 million.
The Tactical Communications Systems Software task order, which falls under the Strategic Services Sourcing (S3) contract vehicle, calls for Alion to support the CECOM Network Planning Terminal, at Ft. Monmouth, N.J., which the company developed.
The NPT provides tools for network planning, engineering and battlefield spectrum management to the Army, Air Force and allied forces worldwide. The system supports global exercises and ongoing military operations, company officials said.
Under the partnering award, Alion will provide software engineering development services, supply lifecycle software support for mission critical defense systems and help transition programs to Web-based applications.
The team is led by Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems Inc., of Belmar, N.J., and the total value of the task order is in excess of $38 million.
Alion Science and Technology, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 39 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
