Amit Yoran has resigned his position as the Homeland Security Departments cybersecurity chief after just a year on the job.
Yoran, who was appointed director of the departments National Cyber Security Division in September 2003, leaves amid questions over whether his office has enough authority to ensure the security of the nations networks.
No one I know from that point in the bureaucracy could have pulled that off, said Alan Paller of the SANS Institute of Bethesda, Md.
