Veridian Corp. has won a $11.18 million task order to provide a new data network for the Military District of Washington, the company announced Oct. 18.

The task order was awarded under the Total Engineering and Integration Services contract, the company said. The project manager is the Defense Communications and Army Switched Systems.

Under the contract, Veridian of Arlington, Va., will install, integrate and test a new data network for the military district. Veridian will perform the work at three of the seven military facilities within the district: Forts Belvoir, Myer and McNair.

Scott Goss, president of Veridian’s IT Services Division, said the company’s work will enhance connectivity among the three Army installation and help them improve their efficiency.

Additional data network and outside plant requirements for other Military District of Washington sites may be brought on in the future, the company said.
