ManTech International Corp. promoted Robert Coleman to president and chief operating officer, the company said today.

Coleman has served as president of ManTech’s Information Systems and Technology division, one of the company’s primary operating units, which focuses on providing advanced information technology services and software solutions to the Defense and Homeland Security departments and the intelligence community.

George Pedersen, ManTech chairman and chief executive officer, also held the president’s title before turning it over to Coleman.

Before joining Fairfax, Va.-based ManTech, Coleman was founder, CEO and president of Integrated Data Systems, a provider of software engineering, computer security and enterprise architectural solutions for the Defense Department and intelligence community. ManTech acquired IDS in February 2003.

Before IDS, Coleman worked at the White House National Security Council Crisis Management Center during the administrations of Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. He also worked for Science Applications International Corp. and Raytheon Technical Services.

ManTech also announced today that Eugene Renzi, company executive vice president and president of the Defense Systems Group, will become ManTech’s senior executive vice president. Joseph Fox, a senior vice president of the Information Systems and Technology division, will replace Coleman as president of that division.

ManTech provides technologies and solutions focused on mission-critical national security programs. Its federal clients included the Defense, Homeland Security, Justice and State departments and the intelligence community. The company employs more than 5,000 people and had 2003 revenue of $701.6 million. It is No. 22 on Washington Technology’s 2004 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
