Five of Symbol Technologies Inc.’s partners were awarded blanket purchase agreements from the Army Contracting Agency Information Technology, E-Commerce and Commercial Contracting Center for the company’s RFID readers, said officials from the firm headquartered in Holtsville, NY.

A blanket purchase agreement establishes a nearly paperless ordering process for products.

The awards were made to CDO Technologies Inc., Cheval Rouge LLC, RSI ID Technologies Inc., SYS-TEC Corp. and WFI Government Services Inc., Symbol officials said.

Symbol’s multi-protocol reader provides data capture to read, write, process and communicate information from electronic product code-compliant passive RFID tags. The technology will assist the DOD in tracking materials and supplies throughout the agency’s supply chain.
