Imageware Systems Inc. has won a subcontract to provide a law-enforcement identification solution to the Sheriff’s Department in Fresno, Calif., the company announced this week.

Under the contract, Imageware of San Diego will integrate its IWS Law Enforcement solution with an automated fingerprint identification system for the Fresno Sheriff’s Department.

The solution will enable the Sheriff’s Department to digitally capture, search, store and retrieve booking data and images that include mug shots, scars, marks and tattoos. Users also will have the ability to conduct Web-based investigative searches to speed the suspect identification process.

The Imageware installation, which will cost about $320,000, will help streamline the law-enforcement identification process for Sheriff’s Department, the company said.

Imageware, a provider of identity management solutions, has about 85 employees and annual sales of $10.5 million, according to Hoover’s Online of Austin, Texas.
