CompuDyne-Public Safety and Justice Inc., a subsidiary of CompuDyne Corp., has acquired Xanalys Corp., a provider of crime-solving and data-sharing tools, the company announced today. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition will expand CompuDyne-Public Safety and Justice’s capabilities and give it access to new clients.

Xanalys of Waltham, Mass., provides a comprehensive suite of investigative management and analysis solutions that enable investigators to collect, analyze and share information to solve cases.

Xanalys’ software has unique abilities to search, retrieve, correlate and visually map information from structured and unstructured information sources, such as phone records, e-mail, letters and reports. This information can be traced to its origins, eliminating questions about data integrity.

Xanalys develops and markets investigative management software solutions for financial, insurance, health care, law enforcement, homeland security and intelligence organizations.

CompuDyne-Public Safety and Justice of Annapolis, Md., is a provider of automated public safety and justice systems for law enforcement, fire and rescue, corrections and justice environments. Among CompuDyne’s clients are law enforcement agencies in San Francisco, Detroit, Pittsburgh and the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police.

CompuDyne has about 726 employees and annual sales of $142.8 million, according to Hoover’s Online of Austin, Texas.
