Rome Research Corp. won a two-year, $3.8 million contract with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service to provide IT instruction and help-desk services for a work flow process involving vendors that work with the agency.

The Rome, N.Y., company, a unit of PAR Technology Corp., will establish the help desk to resolve end-user problems for the Wide Area Work Flow, Receipt and Acceptance program at the agency’s offices in Columbus, Ohio.

The company will furnish a team of technical trainers that will travel to every Army location throughout the United States, Europe and Asia over the next two years to conduct training for the program.

The program is a software application that lets vendors submit and track their invoices and receipt documents via the Internet. The application allows the government to electronically process this data and perform the government receipt and acceptance process.

PAR Technology of New Hartford, N.Y., has more than 1,400 employees and annual revenue of $174.9 million in fiscal 2004, according to Hoover’s Online of Austin, Texas.
