SI International Inc. won a five-year, $9 million contract to continue supporting Web-based training solutions for the Army’s Defense Ammunition Center.

SI International of Reston, Va., will provide customized learning and knowledge management solutions and continue to host and operate a learning management system and a learning content management system to support current and future Web-based training programs.

The company also will implement an enterprise resource planning training solution and design and develop an arms, ammunition and explosives Web portal.

SI International received the contract through the General Services Administration’s Millennia Lite Functional Area 2 governmentwide contract vehicle.

Under the original contract awarded in 2004, SI International delivered the technology-based enterprisewide learning solution used to evaluate the Defense Ammunition Center’s training courses. The company also created the Web-based training development processes, wrote a long-term training plan and implemented the learning management and learning content management systems.

Located in McAlester, Okla., the Army’s Defense Ammunition Center handles ammunition training, explosive safety instruction and logistics support to the Defense Department’s military and civilian employees, other federal agencies and military students from allied countries. Altogether, it provides Web-based training to more than 25,000 students annually.

SI International, which has about 4,300 people and had 2005 revenue of $397.9 million, ranks No. 40 on Washington Technology’s 2006 Top 100 list of federal IT prime contractors.
