Accenture Ltd. won a contract potentially worth $54 million from the Justice Department to construct a new, integrated debt collection system.

Under the contract, Accenture of Hamilton, Bermuda, will consolidate multiple legacy systems into an integrated system. The management and technology consulting firm also will operate and maintain the system.

The Justice Department and all of its component agencies, including the U.S. Attorneys Offices, tax and litigation divisions, and the offices of the chief finance officer and CIO, will use the system.

Accenture, which has more than 133,000 employees and had annual revenue of $15.6 billion in fiscal 2005, ranks No. 24 on Washington Technology’s 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
