Stanley Inc. won a $63 million contract to continue supplying telecommunications and IT infrastructure support to the Defense Department’s Joint Strike Fighter Program Office.

The program office oversees the Defense Department’s warfighting capabilities and provides aircraft weapons systems to the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and key allies.

Under the contract extension, Stanley will continue to deliver telecom, IT and information security support to the program office through 2010. Specifically, the company will supply professional, technical and administrative support for operating the office’s information systems. The tasks include engineering, asset management, documentation and training and software development.

Stanley also will monitor data exchange and storage, maintain the organization’s intranet and extranet environments, and examine IT systems for compliance with Defense Department standards and regulations.

Stanley has worked for the Joint Strike Fighter Program Office for 10 years, and had set up the office’s initial IT infrastructure. The contract encompasses program office facilities nationwide, including Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., and Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Md.

Stanley, which offers IT services and solutions to defense and federal civilian agencies, has about 2,300 workers at more than 100 locations worldwide. The company ranks No. 58 on Washington Technology’s 2006 Top 100 list the largest federal IT contractors.
