A CSC-led joint venture that includes several first-tier systems integrators won a six-year, $422 million contract to supply mission support services to the White Sands Missile Range.

The New Mexico Technology Group, a joint venture owned by Computer Sciences Corp., Lockheed Martin Corp., Northrop Grumman Corp., and TRAX International, will support both the missile range and the 46th Test Group High Speed Test Track at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M.

NewTec, as the joint venture is known, will oversee operation and maintenance of major test facilities, assist in developing instrumentation, and provide support for field and laboratory testing and other developmental engineering services for the missile range. The contract follows a previous award to the company in 1997 to handle mission support for White Sands.

The missile range, which is located in south-central New Mexico, provides the U.S. military and the Defense Department with high-quality services for experimentation, test, research, assessment, development and training.

CSC of El Segundo, Calif., has about 78,000 employees and annual sales of $14.6 billion for fiscal 2006. The company ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology’s 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
