Jazz up your Flash
Wildform Inc. released an update called WildPresenter Pro to its presentation software.

The new version includes a slide navigation player export to let users view and navigate output via a series of thumbnails. It also has templates for generating a complete slide layout for text, images, video and audio.

WildPresenter Pro has streaming Flash video capability to enable the addition of live streaming videos to projects.

Improved PowerPoint-to-Flash conversion includes support for WordArt and multiple master slides, prompting for missing media files and better animation import.

Narrowing focus on vulnerabilities
A new version of the security analysis solution beSTORM 2.0 introduces the 80/20 rule for smart black-box testing.

The 80/20 rule enables faster testing by focusing on known vulnerability patterns before searching for unknown problems. It tests a small group of known scenarios that trigger most of the security holes in products.

Designed for software engineers and developers of IP-based devices and embedded systems, the new makes it more practical to expedite testing for security holes.

The 80/20 feature opens this testing to developers who otherwise would forgo it, as prolonged test periods increase time to market and costs and thus are deemed impractical.

It’s not magic, just contactless
Digimarc Corp. now offers a contactless smart card for its driver license solution.

The technology likely will satisfy expected federal requirements for border crossing IDs, such as the proposed Pass card, company officials said.

Recent border security initiatives would require citizens to get a passport or special border card.

Many U.S. border states want to let their citizens use their driver licenses as valid IDs for border crossing.

Digimarc makes a centrally issued driver license solution that can incorporate a range of contactless smart-card technologies.
