Six contract awards were announced Feb. 9 for the Army’s Information Technology Enterprise Solutions 2 Hardware contract, which has a value of $5 billion over its five-year span — a three-year base contract and two one-year options.

The IT E-Commerce and Commercial Contracting Center and the Army Small Computer Program’s Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Solutions made the awards.

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract was allocated between four large companies and two small businesses. The big firms include Apptis Inc., Chantilly, Va.; CDW Government Inc., Vernon Hills, Ill.; Dell Inc., Round Rock, Texas; and IBM Corp., Armonk, N.Y.

GTSI Corp. of Chantilly, Va., and World Wide Technology Inc. of St. Louis, Mo., are the two small companies to receive contracts.

The ITES2-H contract will be the primary vehicle for the Army to purchase commercial server and storage network environment hardware, including workstations, networked personal computers, printers, servers and software. It supports the ITES2-S contract, which focuses on software.
