Fox named to head Harris defense unit

Harris Corp. has named Sheldon Fox president of its Defense Department Programs business unit.

The company’s DOD Programs unit provides communications systems, networks and products for military aerospace, terrestrial and maritime applications.

Fox previously was vice president of programs for Harris Government Communications Systems’ DOD business area, providing information processing and communications solutions for military services and prime contractors. He will report to Daniel Pearson, group president of Harris’ Defense Communications and Electronics division.

Since Fox joined Harris in 1984, he has held a number of senior leadership positions in program management and business development. He is a member of the Aerospace Industries Association, Air Force Association, Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association and other industry groups.

Harris Corp. of Melbourne, Fla., is an international communications and information technology company. It ranks No. 21 on Washington Technology’s 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
