An Army division will use products from Nitro Security Inc. to help guard the division’s network.

The Network Enterprise Technology Command/9th Signal Command division signed a $3 million contract for NitroGuard IPS and NitroView ESM. The NitroSecurity solutions were selected as part of the effort to defend the Army’s LandWarNet enterprise.

NitroSecurity solutions have the mandatory requirements for Netcom, including IPv6 capability, and technical and maintenance support.

NitroGuard IPS actively protects networks from security attacks, including viruses, worms, spyware, denial-of-service attacks and other forms of malware.

LandWarNet is an enterprise network that covers all Army networks, including those that support military bases and forward-deployed troops.

The Portsmouth, N.H.-based company specializes in hardware and software products for monitoring, analysis and protection of computer networks.
