Daniel Johnson will become president of General Dynamics Corp.’s information technology business, replacing Michael Chandler, who is retiring.

Johnson will report to Gerard DeMuro, executive vice president and group executive of information systems and technology at the Falls Church, Va., company. Johnson starts his new position April 1.

He has been at General Dynamics since 2006 and was the chief operating officer at Anteon Corp., which General Dynamics acquired that year.

Johnson graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and worked at KPMG and BearingPoint Inc., before joining Anteon in 2003.

Chandler had been president of the IT business since June 2006, and previously worked for General Dynamics Network Systems in Needham, Mass., which was combined with Anteon to form the current business unit.

General Dynamics ranks No. 4 on Washington Technology’s 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
