Raytheon Co. is teaming with Harris Corp. and Hewlett Packard Co. to chase a $30 million Air Force contract for the Global Broadcast Service Satellite Broadcast Manager transition contract.

GBS is a mission support system the military uses for wideband Internet protocol broadcasts. The system broadcasts intelligence, imagery, logistics support, weather and target data; Web pages; air tasking orders; and unmanned-aerial-vehicle video, the company said.

The contract will help integrate GBS into future network-centric operations on the Global Information Grid.

Raytheon has worked on the GBS program for 10 years, the company said.

“Now, with Harris and HP on our team, we are confident that we can continue to provide the joint services with the best-value solution on time and on budget,” said Michael Keebaugh, president of Raytheon’s Intelligence and Information Systems business.

The contract, which will be awarded by the Air Force Electronic Systems Center at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., will move GBS broadcast functionality to a centralized Defense Enterprise Computing Center.

Raytheon is ranked No. 6 on Washington Technology’s 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
