CACI International Inc. has won a five-year, $49 million contract to help the Navy provide information technology support for Federal Bureau of Investigation operations.

CACI’s Charleston, S.C., facility will work with the Navy in providing the FBI with systems testing, operational continuity and IT engineering support.

Specifically, the contractor and the Navy will help enhance the FBI’s surveillance capabilities, provide continuity of operations during man-made or natural emergencies and deliver critical support for high-end IT systems engineering.

The award will provide critical support and resources for the FBI and significantly expand opportunities for CACI at the Charleston Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, said Bill Fairl, president of U.S. operations at CACI.

The SeaPort II contract was awarded through the Navy’s SPAWAR Center in Charleston. The award is the first prime contract the center has made to the CACI facility located there, the company said.

CACI, of Arlington, Va., ranks No. 22 on Washington Technology’s 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
