CACI International Inc. will design a new communications framework for the Defense Department that will enable national leaders to communicate better and take action during crises.

The five-year, single-award contract has a maximum value of $25 million.

CACI will work with DOD’s Office of Assistant Secretary of Defense/Networks and Information Integration (OASD/NII) to develop a policy and governance framework to provide communications to defense and national leaders, including the president and top-level staff members.

The work also involves assisting OASD/NII in the design, integration and deployment of command and control capabilities to carry out a broad range of critical missions, CACI said.

The award expands the services CACI provided to OASD/NII’s predecessor for 10 years.

The OASD/NII contract was awarded under the General Services Administration’s Mission Oriented Business Integrated Services contract vehicle through the National Leadership Command Capability Management Office.

CACI, of Arlington, Va., ranks No. 22 on Washington Technology’s 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
