CACI International Inc. will continue providing worldwide logistics support to the Navy’s Military Sealift Command under a 10-year contract worth as much as $134 million.

MSC delivers supplies and conducts specialized maritime missions around the world.

Under the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract, CACI will help the command ensure the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of its shipboard equipment, associated logistics, shore-based and shipboard inventories, and related technical systems, data and documentation.

The new award extends CACI’s work for the command, which began in 1990.

CACI developed MSC’s centralized Configuration and Logistics Information Program (CLIP) database system and installed its shipboard version, ShipCLIP, aboard 112 MSC ships. The system has reduced the cost of logistics support per ship by more than 28 percent since 1995, said Bill Fairl, president of U.S. Operations at CACI.

The company also is helping MSC implement emerging technology for its information systems portal, which links to Defense Department with commercial logistics databases and gives MSC decision-makers rapid access to accurate data on inventories and supplies.

CACI, of Arlington, Va., ranks No. 22 on Washington Technology’s 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
