Cubic Corp. will provide its latest air combat training system to the Polish Air Force under a $9.5 million contract awarded by the U.S. Air Force.

According to the terms of the foreign military sales agreement, Cubic Defense Applications will supply the P5 Combat Training system to the Polish Air Force. Cubic plans to deliver the system to air bases in Poland by late 2009.

Specifically, Cubic will build and deliver 16 P5 airborne subsystem units that will be integrated with new Polish F-16 aircraft, according to a company announcement. The P5 system operates at 10 U.S. military bases.

Cubic’s teammate on the project is DRS C3 Systems Inc., of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

The U.S. Air Force’s 675th/689th Armament Systems Squadron at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., awarded the contract.

Cubic Defense Applications is a unit of Cubic. The parent company ranks No. 83 on Washington Technology’s 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
