Ten companies have won spots on a $2.5 billion contract to modernize information technology systems at the Food and Drug Administration.
The companies will compete against one another for task orders under the 10-year Information Technology for the 21st Century contract. The program includes data management, data warehousing, IT infrastructure and security.
The 10 companies are:
- Buccaneer Computer Systems and Service Inc., Warrenton, Va.
- Computer Sciences Corp., Falls Church, Va.
- Dynanet Corp., Elkridge, Md.
- EDS Corp., Plano, Texas
- General Dynamics Corp., Falls Church, Va.
- HumanTouch LLC, McLean, Va.
- IDL-Pragmatics Innovation Partners, Vienna, Va.
- Interactive Technology Solutions LLC, Silver Spring, Md.
- Telesis Corp., Rockville, Md.
- Unisys Corp., Blue Bell, Pa.
Each company will receive a minimum of $25,000 in work under the contract.
Three task orders have already been awarded. Interactive Technology Solutions won a $3 million task order to design, implement and migrate existing applications to the FDAs new White Oak Data Center in Silver Spring, Md. The center will support FDA test and development applications.
Buccaneer will provide operations and maintenance services at White Oak under a $3 million task order.
Under a $12 million task order, EDS will design, implement, migrate, operate and maintain existing FDA applications at a contractor-owned, contractor-operated data center for FDA production operations.
All FDA software applications and hosting operations will transition to the new data centers over a two-year period.
