Kevin McAleenan becomes the artificial intelligence integrator's third CEO since its public listing in 2021.
BigBear.ai’s board of directors has elected a new chief executive in Kevin McAleenan, who joined the artificial intelligence integrator in the fall as president following its combination with Pangiam.
He also becomes a member of BigBear’s board of directors and succeeds Mandy Long, who previously led the company for two years. Long has stepped down from the board as well and is moving into an adviser role, the company said Wednesday.
McAleenan founded Pangiam in 2020 as a provider of vision AI tools and techniques, which work to apply artificial intelligence to facial recognition and advanced biometrics.
Prior to that, he served as commissioner of the Customs and Border Protection agency and acting homeland security secretary during the first Trump administration.
BigBear went public in the fall of 2021 and McAleenan becomes its third CEO since that listing on the New York Stock Exchange.
The company recorded $114.4 million in revenue and a $125.2 million operating loss for the nine-month period ended Sept. 30 in 2024, compared to $114.6 million in revenue and a $30.4 million operating loss for the same period in 2023.
