Govplace gets new private equity owner

Jay Sunny Bajaj's DigiCap firm completes its first acquisition in the federal market.
Govplace, a public sector IT distributor and integrator focused on secure offerings, has agreed to be acquired by private equity firm Digital Capital Partners and become the latter’s first federal market portfolio company.
DigiCap’s chief executive is its founder Jay Sunny Bajaj, who also started DMI and led that company through its expansion and subsequent sale to PE firm OceanSound Partners in the fall of 2021.
Financial terms of the Govplace transaction were not disclosed, but the company said Tuesday that CEO Simone Feldman and other key management team members will remain in place. Feldman has led Govplace for three years.
Reston, Virginia-headquartered Govplace centers the bulk of its services and solutions around cybersecurity, cloud computing and performance monitoring.
The company has recorded approximately $113.7 million in unclassified prime revenue over the trailing 12 months with 72% of that spend from the Homeland Security Department, according to USASpending.gov data.
