Formerly of GE Aerospace, John Martinez brings a deep defense and intelligence community background to Maximus.

Maximus has appointed a new general counsel in John Martinez, who will succeed the long-time general counsel set to retire at the end of the year.

Martinez’ appointment is immediate and he will work with David Francis, who has held the post since 1998.

Martinez joins Maximus from GE Aerospace, where he was vice president and general counsel. He was responsible for the company’s legal strategy across commercial aviation and defense sectors, including legal, contracts, compliance and government relations.

Other stops in his career include Raytheon, deputy general counsel for the Director of National Intelligence, and senior associate general counsel at the CIA.
