Find opportunities — and win them.

The accounting and advisory services firm buys Nextfed and O’Connor Consulting Services to further grow in GovCon and among nonprofits.

Aprio, the accounting and advisory services firm that acquired Aronson in 2023, has purchased a pair of businesses in quick succession to further extend across the government market and other verticals.

In the purchase of Aronson, Aprio added 350 team members that work with clients in the GovCon and other related industries like cybersecurity and data analytics.

Aprio has now moved further into strategy consulting and merger-and-acquisition advisory work with its purchase of Nextfed, which focuses on GovCon and commercial aerospace.

Nextfed opened for business in 2011 to offer companies support in business development, proposal strategy and corporate transformation initiatives such as post-merger integrations.

Nextfed executives Aaron Myers, Josh Myers, Timothy Reardon and Brian Sweeney are joining Aprio as partners and members of the firm’s aerospace, defense and government advisory practice.

G Squared Capital Partners advised Nextfed.

The second acquisition Aprio announced this week involves O’Connor Consulting Services, which provides financial advisory and litigation support services primarily to nonprofit organizations.

Aprio describes OCS’ areas of expertise as including complex commercial disputes, fraud investigations and economic damage assessments.

The McLean Group advised OCS.

No financial terms were disclosed for either acquisition.
