Find opportunities — and win them.

Washington Technology parent is adding a business development-as-a-service offering to its portfolio through the acquisition of d8 Group.

Washington Technology parent company, GovExec, has acquired d8 Group, a consulting practice that offers business development as a service to help users win federal contracts.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, and d8 will remain an independent division, led by its founder Reeba Magulick.

The company’s offering – the IQ2B Process – and a team of growth experts work with sales and BD leaders to identify the highest probability of win (pWin) pipeline opportunities, map federal map federal decision makers, and advance BD and capture activities through to proposal submission.

“d8 Group has built an incredible reputation among business development leaders across the government contracting community, and we’re excited to bring them on board,” said Dan McCarthy, CEO of GovExec.

The acquisition will complement the market intelligence GovExec provides through its GovTribe business unit to help clients identify opportunities.

d8’s methodology finds opportunities that search and AI cannot. Paired with GovTribe’s AI-powered intelligence and GovExec’s market data, d8 Group will become the connective tissue between data and a winnable capture strategy, the company said.

“I built d8 Group on the belief that the right intelligence, applied at the right moment, can change the outcome of a bid,” Magulick said. “Joining GovExec pairs our disciplined approach to qualifying winnable opportunities with the data, reach and agency access of GovExec and GovTribe.”

The deal was completed with financial support from GovExec’s majority-owner private equity firm Growth Catalyst Partners. Peter Goldstone, chairman of GovExec, served as an advisor.
