L-3 Communications to Acquire EER Systems

L-3 Communications Corp. of New York announced May 16 that it will acquire EER Systems Inc. of Chantilly, Va., for about $105 million, plus up to an additional $10 million, based on EER's financial performance for 2001 and 2002. The acquisition is expected to close within 30 days, L-3 reported.

Micron PC and Government Units Sold to Buyout Firm

Gores Technology Group, a private investment firm in Los Angeles, has announced a purchase agreement for the PC manufacturing and government systems units of Micron Electronics Inc. of Nampa, Idaho. GTG chief executive officer Vance Diggins said Micron's strength in the government market was one of the qualities of that made it an attractive acquisition.

NCS Pearson Makes Government Acquisition

NCS Pearson Inc. of Minneapolis has acquired Kajax Engineering Inc. of Arlington, Va., as part of a strategy to expand its e-government and systems integration work in the federal and state government markets. KEI will be renamed KEI Pearson and become part of the NCS Pearson Government Solutions business unit based in Arlington, said NCS Pearson May 2.

Safeguard, SRA Venture to Spin off New Tech Firms

SRA International Inc. and Safeguard Scientifics Inc. announced April 30 they formed a joint venture company, SRA Ventures LLC.

DynCorp Merges State and Local Gov't Unit With TekInsight.com

TekInsight.com Inc. and DynCorp have signed a formal agreement to merge their state and local operations, creating a combined company of 400 employees and annual revenue approaching $100 million. The companies announced the agreement April 26.
