Seraphim Space Enterprise has picked a group of companies working on solutions for monitoring space traffic, launch capabilities and data connectivity.
A space technology accelerator has chosen a group of 10 startups to receive seed money for their work to develop new technologies that have both public sector and commercial applications.
Seraphim Space Enterprise, which does business as Generation Space in the U.S., said the companies are part of its Mission 15 cohort are working on solutions related to launch, orbital defense and dual-use artificial intelligence.
The organization did not disclose financial terms. But since 2018, Seraphim has supported more than 120 startups that have raised $695.3 million in funding.
The 10 companies in this cohort announced Monday represent diverse approaches to space innovation:
- Aerlin (U.S.): Developing smart antenna technology to bring satellite data connectivity to consumer vehicles.
- Ecosmic (Italy): Working on space sustainability solutions by addressing operational and traffic risks in satellite constellations.
- Ethereal Exploration Guild (India): Building Razor Crest Mk-1, a reusable medium-lift launch vehicle aimed at reducing launch costs to between $350 and $2000 per kilogram.
- LambdaVision (U.S).: Using microgravity manufacturing to create protein-based artificial retinas for patients with degenerative eye diseases.
- Lyrasense (Germany/U.K.): Simplifying geospatial intelligence with AI agents for earth observation applications.
- ONDO Space (U.S./Mongolia): Providing affordable emergency communication solutions for remote populations and animal tracking.
- Pan Galactic (U.K.): Developing secure operating systems and quantum-safe blockchain infrastructure for the space economy.
- Planetary Utilities (U.S.): Creating a modular marketplace and infrastructure platform to make space more accessible.
- Ravee Optics (U.S.): Enabling compact laser communication technology for high-bandwidth data transmission between small satellites.
- Vortx AI Private Limited (India): Leveraging multi-modal satellite data to address AI hallucinations and bias in satellite-enabled AI systems.
ONDO Space is the first time Seraphim has invested in a Mongolia-headquartered company. Seraphim's geographic spread highlights how barriers to entry in the space sector continue to fall, the organization said in a release.
"Each year, we see a broader spread of countries joining the new space race," said Alexander Holt, a managing director at Seraphim Space Enterprise. "This year, we're proud to welcome our first Mongolian company, proof that space innovation is no longer the preserve of a few global powers. It's a global movement.”
