Applied Information Sciences is also adding the departments of Justice and Homeland Security as customers, as well as the FBI.

Applied Information Sciences has acquired a provider of analytics and mission support to national security and law enforcement customers in a move to expand artificial intelligence offerings.

Dorrean was founded in 2008 and works primarily with the departments of Justice and Homeland Security, as well as the FBI. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“As a combined entity, our cloud, data, AI, and mission-focused capabilities will be easily accessible across the entire federal government,” AIS CEO Larry Katzman said in a release Thursday.

AIS now has positions on large prime vehicles such as OASIS+, Justice's ITSSS 2, the Tradewinds Other Transaction Authority, and GSA Schedules.

“This partnership allows us to scale our impact for the mission, create new growth opportunities for our employees, and bring even greater value to the customers we support through technology-enabled solutions,” Dorrean CEO Steve Psarakis said.

AIS, an employee-owned company, is pursuing a strategy to expand its federal footprint and offer more end-to-end solutions for its clients.

Rock Hall Partners was Dorrean’s financial adviser. Miles & Stockbridge acted as legal counsel to AIS.
