Find opportunities — and win them.

The five-year agreement includes greater use of Google's distributed cloud offering as well as certifying 1,000 SAIC employees on the tech giant's products.

Science Applications International Corp. has formed a strategic alliance with Google's public sector arm that centers around the global tech giant's distributed offering.

The five-year agreement will focus on tactical edge solutions, secure and scalable artificial intelligence tools, and rapid data insights.

“By integrating our expertise in technology for defense, intelligence, space and federal civilian sectors with Google Cloud's cutting-edge AI and machine learning tools, we are uniquely positioned to deliver secure, scalable, and impactful solutions that meet the evolving needs of our government clients,” Lauren Knausenberger, SAIC’s chief innovation officer, said in a release Wednesday.

Some of the specific offerings under development include AI at the edge, which is intended to bring real-time analytics and data processing closer to the source when in disconnected or intermittent environments.

The two companies will also work together on operational efficiency solutions to improve decision-making and automate tasks for users.

Training is also a critical element of the alliance. SAIC’s goal is to train 1,000 SAIC personnel on using Google Cloud technologies over the course of the agreement. Google is providing a learning consultant to speed the process.

“By combining Google Cloud's innovative solutions with SAIC's deep understanding of the federal landscape, we can accelerate AI adoption, enhance mission outcomes and drive greater efficiency for agencies across the government,” said Jan Niemiec, Google Public Sector’s managing director for national security.
