Tenica brings mission support and cybersecurity services to McNally’s growing defense and intelligence portfolio.
McNally Capital has acquired the defense and intelligence firm Tenica Global Solutions, which provides integrated engineering and digital modernization solutions to agencies.
Tenica also provides mission operations and cybersecurity support across its national security, intelligence, space and defense markets. Tenica will continue to operate under its current leadership team.
“As we begin this next chapter, we are excited to partner with McNally, a firm that understands what makes Tenica unique and can provide the resources and expertise to help us continue growing,” Tenica's president and CEO Nicholas Scherling said in a release.
Tenica is headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia and was founded in 2008. The company has received about $5.4 million in unclassified prime contract obligations over the trailing 12 months with the Navy as its biggest customer, according to USASpending.gov.
The majority investment fits with McNally’s strategy of finding companies that serve defense and intelligence priorities. Tenica’s systems engineering and mission operations capabilities provide a foundation for more growth, McNally said in its announcement.
McNally's investments also include Quiet Professionals, Orbis Operations, and Xcelerate.
McNally looks to invest in founder-led companies and family-owned businesses, as well as help in management-led investments.
For the Tenica acquisition, McNally worked with Nio Advisors LLC. Ropes & Gray LLP served as legal counsel to McNally Capital and Venable LLP provided government contracting counsel.
The McLean Group served as Tenica’s financial adviser and PilieroMazza served as legal counsel to the company.
