We are jumping into where the concept of enterprise IT at government agencies is at today and where it is going at our Aug. 26 WT Power Breakfast.

Enterprise IT is not a new concept, but it is a growing and evolving business opportunity for government contractors.

The scope of enterprise IT is huge when looking at contracts such as the Navy’s Next Generation Enterprise Network or the Defense Information Systems Agency's DEOS program.

Our next Washington Technology Power Breakfast is Aug. 26 and we are going to take a deep dive into this topic to understand its history and what’s on the horizon. Click here for more information.

Lined up to open the morning is Venice Goodwine, director of enterprise IT at the Air Force for that branch's chief information officer. We will discuss the Air Force’s IT priorities and how the military service has been evolving its enterprise IT approach.

Goodwine will overview challenges the Air Force faces and the lessons it has learned along the way, plus what’s on the horizon and how contractors can support her vision for the Air Force.

The industry panel following Goodwine will feature Ben Gianni, senior vice president and chief technology officer at General Dynamics IT; and Steve Hull, executive vice president and operations manager for enterprise and cyber solutions at Leidos.

GDIT and Leidos have two of the largest enterprise IT programs in the government market -- Navy NGEN and DISA DEOS.

Gianni and Hull will share what these and other projects say about the current and future states of enterprise IT in the market . Those projects are often as much about the journey as they are an end-point destination.

The morning will wrap up with a presentation by Amber Hart and Lisa Shea Mundt, founders of market intelligence and business development consultant The Pulse of GovCon.

Hart and Mundt will present spending and budget data on how agencies are adopting enterprise IT, who the big spenders are inside government, what they are buying and why.

That data should inform strategies and help in building business cases to pursue the right opportunities.

As a reminder: the Enterprise IT Power Breakfast is Aug. 26 and gets underway at 8:10 a.m. Eastern time.
