Find opportunities — and win them.

The five-year contract will span strategic planning, supply chain management and congressional affairs for the G-4 organization.

The Army is looking to enlist a contractor to support logistics and supply chain management needs.

The service’s logistics operation is huge and this contract would support strategic planning and analysis, supply chain management, equipment and property, budget and resources, and communications and outreach

A new sources sought notice posted Wednesday describes how the contract will support the Army’s deputy chief of staff for logistics, the so-called G-4.

The notice is not clear about whether this will be a single-award or multiple-award contract, but the language indicates a single award. The notice only refers to the contractor in the singular, including where it discusses the transition of the work to a new contractor.

The contract is expected to be for five years with options. Most of the work will take place at the Pentagon with one position at Fort Lee, Virginia.

With this contract, the Army is asking for contractor personnel to supplement civilian employees. The scope spans across every functional area of Army logistics. Many of the positions the Army wants contractor personnel to fill need top secret clearances.

The contractor will also prepare briefings for the Army's chief of staff and other senior Defense Department officials.

There does not appear to be an incumbent contractor currently in place. The sources sought notice discusses how equipment and work will move from the Army to the contractor. The contractor also has to include a plan for how work will be transitioned to a new company at the end of five-year contract.

Responses to the notice are due Dec. 19. The Army did not include a timeline for when a request for proposals will be released.
