DOD's new CIO headlines our first Power Breakfast of 2026

Our first Power Breakfast of 2026 will kick off with an all-star keynote by the Defense Department’s chief information officer Kirsten Davies, who joined DOD in December.

The security of the supply chain and the defense industrial base will top the agenda. Davies plans to share her plan on the transformation of IT, cyber and command and control initiatives.

One of her primary goals is to align the CIO’s office with the priorities of DOD’s Arsenal of Freedom strategy. She will also discuss critical initiatives involving operation technology and the cyber workforce.

Expect lots of insights on how industry can support her initiatives and DOD.

The program will then dive specifically into the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification and particularly changes in the assessor program now that ISACA has become the lead assessor certification organization.

Todd Gagnon, ISACA director, will give an update on how credentialing, training, and quality assurance are evolving. We will talk assessor capacity, market readiness and practical steps you should be taking as CMMC moves forward.

The final session will look at companies' experience with the CMMC process. Tom Terjeson, CIO at Peraton, and Leidos' chief information security officer JR Williamson will talk about CMMC touches multiple parts of their businesses.

Partnering strategies, cultural change and opportunities ahead will feature in that discussion.
