ManTech International Corp. reported 43.7 percent growth in income from continuing operations and 12.8 percent growth in revenue for the company's second quarter.
The Office of Management and Budget has approved the $1 billion Transportation Security Administration contract award to Unisys Corp. for the company to build and maintain TSA's IT infrastructure. Approval from OMB came about 7:15 p.m. Aug. 13, TSA Chief Information Officer Patrick Schambach said at a Federal Sources Executive Breakfast Aug. 14. "I'm a happy man this morning," he said.
Veridian Corp. announced Aug. 13 it has signed an agreement to acquire Signal Corp., a privately owned systems integrator, for $227 million in a combination of cash and notes. Signal expands the company's presence in the defense and command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance community, and "gives Veridian access to new markets in key civilian agencies, which we believe will become increasingly important as homeland security unfolds," said David Langstaff, Veridian president and CEO.

PwC Consulting won't be going public after all. The company announced July 30 that instead of spinning off from its parent company, New York accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, PwC Consulting would instead be bought by information technology giant IBM Corp. of Armonk, N.Y., for $3.5 billion in cash and stock.
