Work will support an ongoing business transformation initiative at a Navy research, development, test and evaluation infrastructure division.
A small business joint venture owned by Perrygo Consulting Group and SMX has won a five-year, $532.1 million contract for IT enterprise engineering and hosting services to a major Navy air station.
PCG-SMX JV will take on the responsibility of managing centrally- and remotely-located IT services for Patuxent River Naval Air Station that will include application and data support work.
The Naval Air Systems Command received five bids in total for the contract, according to the Pentagon’s Wednesday awards digest.
Solicitation documents issued in March 2024 outline how NAVAIR’s research, development, test and evaluation infrastructure division is undertaking a business transformation initiative with the goal of enhancing its status as a service provider to the command.
The division provides engineering and technical support for more than 150 laboratories and facilities at Patuxent River and several other naval air stations across the U.S., plus is responsible for operating NAVAIR’s high-performance computing facility and base area networks.
SMX can claim this win as a retention through its legacy business Smartronix, which won the work in 2019 as a delivery order through the government-wide Alliant 2 IT vehicle. The Navy has obligated $182.2 million in work to-date, according to GovTribe data.
