Find opportunities — and win them.

CTC just completed its new 10-year strategic plan to shape the nonprofit's future as an applied scientific research-and-development firm.

Ed Sheehan, chief executive of the nonprofit science and research firm Concurrent Technologies Corp., plans to retire on June 30 after leading CTC for 18 years.

CTC’s board of directors has started a search process to appoint Sheehan’s successor, the firm said Wednesday. Sheehan has worked at CTC for 33 years in total.

His announcement follows CTC’s work in 2025 to complete a new 10-year strategic plan for shaping both its own future and that of Enterprise Ventures Corp., a technology transition affiliate the parent company stood up in 2000.

“I believe this is a good time to transition the top leadership of the organization to lead the next phase of organizational growth,” Sheehan said in a release. “I will support a seamless handoff to the next leader. While I am retiring, I anticipate maintaining a relationship with CTC as we move into the future.”

CTC focuses its applied scientific research-and-development work on four key areas including digital mission solutions, engineering and advanced manufacturing, and readiness solutions. Energy, resilience and sustainability is the firm’s fourth core solution development set.

The Johnstown, Pennsylvania-headquartered firm has recorded approximately $36.4 million in unclassified prime contract revenue over the trailing 12 months with Navy work representing the majority at 51.6% of the spend.

The General Services Administration makes up for 40.9%, according to USASpending.gov data, indicating that work likely flows through task- or delivery order-based contract vehicles used by other agencies.
