Library of Congress chooses 8 for $450M agile development vehicle

The Library of Congress has awarded eight places on a five-year, $450 million contract vehicle for broad technology modernization services focused on that agency's IT systems and software applications.

Companies involved in the Agile System Development Support Services program will compete for work across areas such as planning, design, development, integration and maintenance.

Awardees as disclosed Wednesday are as follows:

• Ad Hoc
• Albacore Group
• Artemis Consulting
• CGI Federal
• Gunnison Consulting Group
• Navitas Business Consulting
• NIC Federal

The solicitation posted in December outlines how the Library uses system development and project management life cycle processes to maintain its collection of approximately 162 million items in at least 450 languages.

A majority of the vehicle's task orders should follow an agile and iterative delivery model as opposed to more traditional waterfall processes, the Library said at the time. User experiences and interface designs are additional areas of focus for the Library as it seeks to advance its overall IT environment.

The number of total bidders was not known at the time of publication. The contract appears to be a brand new requirement with no incumbent.
