SAIC is the incumbent on the current version of the Air Force Modeling and Simulation Support Services award
The company filed a protest with the Government Accountability Office on May 12, challenging the Air Force's decision to exclude it from the competitive range for AFMS 3. GAO has until Aug. 20 to make a decision.
The current AFMS 2 award is worth $972 million over five years and expires on June 11, according to GovTribe data. AFMS 2 is a task order under the government-wide OASIS vehicle.
SAIC has been supporting the Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation as well as other Defense Department organizations. Key requirements include cybersecurity, training systems, and specialized support over several areas. Task areas include program management, operational support, and technical services.
The Air Force is competing AFMS 3 under a highest technically-rated offeror methodology. Bidders had to provide up to 10 work samples demonstrating their modeling and simulation experience, as well as their past performance ratings and scores.
