State Department awards $5B global stability support contract

The GLOBALCAP contract covers a wide range of services across areas such as training and mentoring, logistics and equipment support.
The State Department has awarded 16 companies positions on a potential 10-year, $5 billion contract vehicle for professional services to assist the agency in carrying out programs focused on preventing conflicts in overseas locations.
The GLOBALCAP contract also covers construction, equipment, logistics and training support for programs focused on bolstering peace, security and regional stability.

GLOBALCAP will support the State Bureau of African Affairs’ Office of Regional Peace and Security, along with the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs’ Office of Global Programs and Initiatives.
State has structured the contract to have four primary task areas, with the training and mentoring piece focusing on efforts to build new cadres and tactical training.
The equipment provision area covers the supply of items such as cargo trucks, tankers, generations, night vision devices and communication gear. Construction work is primarily focused on the engineering of structures, while logistics covers an array of services such as communication support and maintenance.
