SAP’s National Security Services subsidiary will work with the service branch on migrating more applications and other tech assets to a cloud environment.

SAP’s National Security Services subsidiary has booked a 10-year, $1 billion contract that will act as an end-user license agreement for the parent company’s RISE with SAP software suite.

RISE with SAP is a consolidated lineup of cloud applications, infrastructure and related services for business functions such as enterprise resource planning. SAP also designed the software for supply chain management and analytics work.

The Army is looking to accelerate its migration from on-premise systems to SAP NS2’s cloud platform under the contract that runs through September 2035, SAP NS2 said Thursday.

For the Army, its primary goal for the contract is to increase its focus on core mission and strategic initiatives by having more of its technology resources in a cloud computing environment.

SAP NS2 developed its cloud solutions to adhere to security controls from the Defense Information Systems Agency and under FedRAMP, the government-wide authorization program.

The Pentagon first announced the award in its Sept. 25 contracts digest, which said SAP NS2 was the lone bidder for the contract.
