Within that realm of technology, one of the market's largest companies appoints a new leader for its artificial intelligence practice.
A-TEK
Crystal Hair has joined the science and technology services company as its first-ever chief technology officer amid the push to grow digital transformation work for clients.
That expansion effort covers areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, cybersecurity and agile development. Hair will specifically lead A-TEK's digital roadmap and partnership functions.
The 18-year tech veteran most recently worked as vice president of cloud at business and tech consultancy 11:59, where she the led development of new service lines in digital transformation and cloud security.
Accenture Federal Services
Denise Zheng has moved into the role of chief artificial intelligence officer at AFS, the global consultancy's subsidiary focused on U.S. federal work.
She will also lead the federal data and AI practice with responsibility for solution development and tailoring, industry partnerships, ethical AI frameworks, and continuous learning for employees.
Zheng most recently worked as global generative AI and ecosystem lead for the Accenture parent. She is also a former chief of staff for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s foundational cyber and AI program.
Alpha Omega
Rob Brown has joined the government technology integrator as senior vice president of national security solutions with two decades of market experience to the role.
Brown most recently worked as chief technology officer at Systalex, a small business contractor focused on cloud architecture and application development services for federal agencies.
Prior to that, he served in several positions at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services agency including as CTO for three years.
Boston Government Services
Darrell Grady has joined the Energy Department-focused services provider as chief strategy officer after eight years at Leidos.
Grady's roles at Leidos were focused on strategic planning, execution, new business development capture plans and program management. Prior to that, he spent three decades at Lockheed Martin in positions with similar responsibilities.
BGS is one of three Energy-focused contractors owned by the private equity firm Bernhard Capital Partners, which on Wednesday announced its acquisition of Strategic Management Solutions to continue building out that portfolio of investments.
Edgewater Federal Solutions
Hank Jackson has moved up to the chief operating officer position and will oversee the service delivery function with respect to its contracts, along with day-to-day operations.
The three-decade IT services market veteran joined Edgewater in September 2021 as executive technology adviser following a career at companies such as Science Applications International Corp., Logistical Consulting Group, Regent Education, and Bridgeway Benefit Technologies.
Jackson's promotion to COO follows Edgewater's early April announcement that Brian Carr elevated to the chief financial officer role.
Siemens Government Technologies
Elizabeth Larson has moved up to the chief financial officer role at SGT, the U.S. federal subsidiary of the Germany-headquartered industrial software conglomerate.
SGT acts as an integrator of Siemens’ products and services in areas such as digital engineering and modeling, efficient and resilient energy, and smart infrastructure modernization.
Larson has been with the Siemens enterprise for 22 years and most recently worked as a finance leader within the company's electronic products team.
Two Six Technologies
Daniel Bono has joined the national security tech integrator as senior vice president of intelligence solutions with a specific mandate to lead its "Trusted Concepts" business unit also called TCI.
That team is responsible for providing software engineering, cyber and advanced analytics solutions to intelligence agencies. TCI was formerly led by co-founder Chris Greenlee, who now works as vice president of zero trust solutions at the Carlyle Group-owned company.
Bono is a 23-year market veteran and formerly of CACI International, where he most recently worked as vice president of cyber missions operations.
Xcelerate Solutions
David Kapusta has joined this other defense and national security-focused tech integrator as executive vice president of integration and brings roughly three decades of experience to the role.
His main responsibility will be to lead the integration of Xcelerate and VMD following their business combination announced in February. The McNally Capital-backed Xcelerate now has 1,000 employees in its workforce.
Most recently, Kapusta worked as chief operating officer and president of operating units for NTT Data's U.S. federal subsidiary. His career also includes leadership roles at IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Coopers & Lybrand.
