Carmen Krueger joins Microsoft to help oversee its federal strategy focused on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
Microsoft has hired a new corporate vice president for its federal business in Carmen Krueger, formerly an executive at SAP for close to two decades.
Krueger will help lead Microsoft’s push to further expand its reach across the federal landscape with artificial intelligence and cybersecurity representing key priorities for the company.
“Federal agencies are under pressure to deliver better services, faster, and to do so securely,” Chris Barry, corporate vice president for Microsoft’s public sector arm, wrote in a LinkedIn post announcing the hire. “As government embraces AI to unlock efficiency and improve outcomes for the public, leadership that understands mission, modernization, and trust is essential.”
Most recently, Krueger worked as chief operating officer and chief business officer for SAP’s North America region. She is also a former managing director for SAP’s North America government and critical infrastructure business.
Krueger was part of the founding executive team that stood up SAP NS2, the software conglomerate’s subsidiary focused on cleared work for U.S. government agencies.
She joins Microsoft roughly two months after its hire of former Vodafone Germany CEO Phillippe Rogge to lead the global public sector shop.
