The company builds its artificial intelligence governance tools for agencies to navigate compliance requirements.
An artificial intelligence startup focused on the public sector market has landed $15 million in Series A capital, including an investment from Insight Partners.
Darwin AI also received backing in this round from existing investors UpWest and Resolute Ventures, the company said Friday. Darwin AI's board of directors has also added Brenda Harvey, a former leader of IBM's public sector business and current board member at Nissan.
CEO Noam Maital and Chief Technology Officer Asaf Fadida founded the company in 2024. Its flagship Darwin Govern offering is designed to help agencies establish policy, enforce records management, oversee data governance and maintain compliance across their AI environment.
The company also offers its LaunchPad platform for building and managing agentic AI workflows for HR, procurement, permitting and other repetitive processes.
The Series A funding will help the Palo Alto, California-based company accelerate development of Govern and LaunchPad, expand deployment support, and grow its team to meet demand from state agencies including Texas, Ohio, California, Illinois, and Washington.
"Agencies need to ensure AI adoption complies with existing regulations like public records laws, while also meeting emerging state and federal AI standards that require guardrails, inventories, and full visibility," Maital said.
