Defense, tech and growth leadership moves across the market

A trio of board of directors appointments also feature, plus a former U.S. ambassador's new role in industry.
AAR Corp.
Sarah Flanagan has been appointed interim chief financial officer at the aviation services provider, which she first joined in 2012 and currently works as vice president of financial operations.
Flanagan succeeds Sean Gillen, who is leaving AAR after seven years as its CFO for another position outside of the aviation industry.
Prior to AAR, she spent 11 years at Honeywell in financial leadership roles and worked at PwC before that.
Aretum
Michael Herrington has joined the IT and professional services provider as leader for its defense sector, a role he brings 25 years of experience to.
Herrington most recently worked as CEO of Tsymmetry and before that was a division vice president and general manager at Leidos. His career also includes senior roles at Michael Baker International and DynCorp International.
Aretum is owned by the private equity firm Renovus Capital.
Auria
Chris Hasset has joined the space domain awareness software provider as general manager of the commercial and public sector unit, a role he brings two decades of experience to.
His responsibilities at Auria include customer engagement, operations and growth initiatives. Auria is owned by the investment firm Enlightenment Capital.
Hassett most recently worked at ManTech as senior executive director for commercial software and services at that company’s office of the chief technology officer.
Babel Street
John Larson has joined the risk intelligence software provider as president and chief artificial intelligence officer following a seven-year stint at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he led the firm’s AI strategy.
Larson will oversee Babel Street’s efforts to scale its AI offerings and speed up product innovation efforts.
At Booz Allen, he worked as an executive vice president and oversaw the launch of several AI offerings and partnerships with global tech providers. He is also a veteran of IHS Markit, Deloitte, IBM and PwC.
BAE Systems Inc.
Anjali Chaturvedi has moved up to chief ethics officer at the defense company’s U.S. subsidiary, which she joined in 2024 and formerly worked as vice president and associate general counsel for litigation and investigations.
Her new role covers strategy and execution regarding the company’s ethics program. She is a member of the BAE Systems Inc. leadership team and reports to Alice Eldridge, general counsel.
Chaturvedi’s private sector career includes roles at Northrop Grumman and BP. She is also a former assistant U.S. attorney in Washington, D.C., and Northern California.
Cerberus Capital Management
Nethaniel “Nate” Fick, the former U.S. ambassador at-large for cyberspace and digital policy, has joined the private investment firm as chief strategy officer for equities and senior management director.
Fick will help guide Cerberus’ investments and help lead a supply chain strategy focused on the national security arena.
His career also includes stints as general manager for Elastic’s security business, CEO of Endgame and a decade as an operating partner at Bessemer Venture Partners.
Clearwaters.IT
David Doherty has joined the IT support services provider as chief growth officer, a role he brings three decades of experience to.
His responsibilities at Clearwaters cover capture management and business development initiatives, among others related to the company’s push for expansion.
Doherty’s career in industry includes stints at @Orchard as chief growth officer and a vice president post at TechFlow, among others.
Client Solution Architects
Ellen Barletto has moved to chief growth officer at the technology and operational support services provider, which she first joined in 2008.
Barletto most recently worked in the chief administrative officer role. Her career at CSA has also included business development and proposal management positions.
Prior to CSA, she started her career at a law firm supporting Homeland Security Department and immigration matters. She later joined the Justice Department to lead initiatives focused on environmental and regulatory compliance.
Obviant
Mike Madsen, the former deputy director of the Defense Innovation Unit, has joined this provider of budget and acquisition data intelligence as vice president of national security.
The three-decade defense sector veteran most recently worked as vice president of government relations at Strider Technologies.
He is also a retired Air Force colonel and served in the Office of the Secretary of Defense’s Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation directorate before his retirement.
Voyager Technologies
John Baum has joined the space company as executive vice president of strategy and advanced concepts, a role he brings 23 years of defense sector experience to.
He previously co-founded Draken International and served in several Air Force roles, including as a pilot and a branch chief for the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force.
Baum most recently worked as vice president of business development at Vast.
Allocore
Sonu Singh, the founder of 1901 Group who sold it to Leidos in 2021, has joined the board of directors at this provider of fraud prevention software that focuses on federal loan and grant programs.
1901 Group specialized in managed services, cloud computing migrations and operations, software development, and cyber engineering. Singh also is a co-founder of Spectrum Solutions Group, which SRA International acquired in 2005.
Like Auria, Allocore is also in the Enlightenment Capital portfolio.
Boeing
Bradley Tilden, formerly CEO of the parent company of Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, has joined the global aerospace giant’s board of directors.
He spent 31 years at Alaska Air Group, culminating with his appointment to the CEO role in 2012.
Tilden will sit on the Boeing board’s aerospace safety and finance committee. He also becomes the board’s 12th member and 10th new director since 2019 as part of Boeing’s larger turnaround effort.
Iridium
Louis Alterman, CEO of enterprise mobility specialist Stratix Corp., has joined the board of directors at this mobile voice and data satellite communications network operator.
He is also a former chief financial officer for Rackspace and before that held senior roles at EarthLink, a telecommunications provider.
Alterman becomes the 12th member of the board, which has nine independent members including him.
