Cybermedia Technologies, a technology and professional services contractor backed by Main Street Partners, has promoted Audra Upchurch to the chief executive post on a full-time basis following six months as interim CEO.
Upchurch is a two-decade veteran of the market who joined CTEC in 2024 to lead its homeland security business unit. She was appointed interim CEO role in September after then-CEO Joel Willett announced his bid to replace Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky).
"I look forward to building on our recent progress and working with our talented team to strengthen mission outcomes and deliver solutions aligned to operational urgency,” Upchurch said in a release Tuesday.
McLean, Virginia-headquartered CTEC has recorded approximately $33.8 million in unclassified prime contract obligations over the trailing 12 months. The Treasury Department represents 57% of that spend with the Office of the Secretary of Defense next at 28%, according to USASpending.gov data.
The company touts its core IT modernization, data operations, workforce training and development, and acquisition support. Main Street Capital partnered with other investors to acquire Cybermedia in the spring of 2023 as part of the firm’s approach to backing lower middle-market companies.
Before joining CTEC, Upchurch spent 10 years at LMI with the last two as vice president of its homeland security unit. Her career also includes roles at Leidos, the “old” Science Applications International Corp. and Organizational Strategies Inc.
