B&A acquires secure communication tech developer

B&A has acquired a developer of secure mobile communications and data management products as part of a push to complement its service offerings with proprietary technologies.

Jared Shepard founded Intelligent Waves in 2006 to provide cybersecurity, network and systems engineering, and data science solutions to federal agencies. Intelligent Waves designs its products to help agencies address their needs in areas such as modernization and edge communications.

B&A is also looking to broaden its base of defense and intelligence agencies via this transaction announced Monday. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Intelligent Waves’ product line includes the Graypath expeditionary communications technology, the Phantom platform for maintaining stealth activity on networks, and STRIKE offering for collecting and distributing tactical sensor data.

The Defense Department, special operations organizations and intelligence agencies have selected these products for their programs.

B&A is owned by the private equity firm DFW Capital Partners, which acquired the contractor in 2024 and has since helped it complete two purchases.
