ManTech's co-founder and longtime leader George Pedersen is retiring from the board of directors.

ManTech said Wednesday that George Pedersen, its co-founder and longtime leader, has retired from his position on the board of directors and the title of chairman emeritus.

“The company is well-positioned under the guidance of a strong leadership team and board, and I believe that now is the right time to retire from the board,” Pedersen said in the release. “I care deeply about ManTech and its people and look forward to closely following the company’s continued success as its largest shareholder.”

For Pedersen, retiring from the board means he no longer has an official title at the company that he is the largest shareholder in.

Pedersen was of course ManTech’s CEO from its 1968 inception until handing the reins in 2018 to current chief executive Kevin Phillips, who then became chairman in late 2020 as part of a larger leadership transition.
